No big surprises here, in regards to what the Academy's make-up branch has included on their shortlist to decide which three films will be nominated for this Oscar. Perhaps a surprise in one exclusion - Cloud Atlas, whose make-up was the subject of controversy surrounding accusations of racism, when it was released a few weeks back. Nonsense accusations; perhaps the Academy was turned off voting for Cloud Atlas due to that, or perhaps it was turned off voting for Cloud Atlas because its make-up was pretty shoddy. It could be any of these seven, some of which may have the boost of popularity as films (Lincoln, Looper, Les Mis). Amend your predictions accordingly, people, nerds like me!
