AMPAS CHANGES ANIMATED FEATURE RULES

This is, ofc, of enormous importance. The rules have officially been approved for next year's Oscar; one notable change regards credits in the Animated Feature category. Only two recipients can be credited, with the necessity that at least one of the two holds a producer credit on the film; the other will be the film's director. Should the film be the product of a directing duo, they'll make space.

  1. So, essentially film's producer shall also find his place on the golden platter.

Wonder if Tin Tin 2 turns out to be overwhelmingly great, Peter Jackson and Steven Speilberg would get to share the animation Oscar. Academy just owes to Speilberg now more than ever with latest snubbing of Lincoln. And Tin Tin 1 couldn't even generate a Best Animated feature nominee even with Globe and PGA victory. Academy would like to sort their shit out with Mr.Hollywood. They got to,
    right?

    1. I'm not sure quite what the industry makes of Steven Spielberg. They seem to both love him and hate him. I've never been his strongest supporter, but Tintin's snub was very unexpected, and I did like that film.
