Chris McQuarrie, who won an Oscar for writing The Usual Suspects, directed Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher last Christmas. He has now been signed up to direct Mission: Impossible 5, following on from Brad Bird's extremely well-received Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, which Jack Reacher tried to ape with its December release last year.
