OBIT - KAREN BLACK

I was thinking about Karen Black just yesterday. As announced by her husband Stephen Eckleberry on Facebook, Oscar and Grammy-nominated actor Black died today, having suffered from ampullary cancer since November 2010. She starred in many seminal films of the late 60s and early 70s, including Easy Rider, Nashville, The Great Gatsby (in which she played Myrtle Wilson) and Five Easy Pieces, for which she received a Golden Globe and a NYFCC award, and she was also in Alfred Hitchcock's final film, Family Plot. We'll forget for a moment that she was a scientologist, and remember Karen as the talented actor and wonderful personality that she was.
