The Venice Film Festival's Critics Week is run by SNCCI, Italy's National Union of Film Critics, independently from the main festival. They've handed their main award to the Italo-Slovenian comedy Zoran, My Nephew the Idiot, directed by Matteo Oleotto. The Europa Cinemas Label gives out an award for Best European Film at Cannes, Berlin and Karlovy Vary fests too, and their Venice prize has gone to Jean Denizot's The Good Life this year.
