Choices galore for the cinema this weekend!
PRISONERS
It'll be another week until we in the UK will get a chance to see Denis Villeneuve's acclaimed thriller, which has been tipped for Oscar nominations. But the US gets it this coming weekend. The hard-hitting film hasn't united critics in praise, but many have a lot of very good things to say about the film, which is one of two Jake Gyllenhaal-starring pictures from the Canadian director this year. I'm looking forward to seeing this next weekend, because I do love a good crime drama.
DIANA
This could be a rare occasion in which bad reviews don't have that much of an impact on box office. Oliver Hirschbiegel's reported turkey opens in the UK on Friday. But, ofc, it can't be that bad, because it stars Naomi Watts. No matter what some silly critics, incapable of juggling more than one thought at one time, have said, I know that Naomi is gonna be so good as Diana Spencer, a woman whose grace and beauty was only surpassed by Naomi's. She's a trooper, and I'm sure you'll all agree that she's amazing and we love her and she's gonna be great. Poor thing walked out of an interview on the film recently because she was so stressed so lay off her, media! Y'all are just jealous!
ENOUGH SAID
Heh, indeed. Not so funny though is that this is James Gandolfini's last performance. But don't be too sad, America, because it's supposed to be a pretty good one, alongside several others in the wonderful Nicole Holofcener's latest comedy. The trailer itself is a delight, so I expect the film will be too. It's out on Friday in the US.
