Canadian director Jean-Marc Vallee made this year's Dallas Buyers Club, which looks poised to produce Oscar nominations for its stars Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto. His next project is Wild, which is already undergoing filming. It's based on Cheryl Strayed's memoir about a woman who walks 100 miles along the Pacific Crest Trail in search of a meaning for her life, as she struggles with her troubled past. Reese Witherspoon will play the lead, and it has just been announced that Laura Dern will play her mother.
