I hope there are so many other films in British cinemas on the 3rd of January that I have an excuse not to go see Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. It's out in the US on the 29th of November, so American audiences can go see if it's as bland as its promotional material has been. That song you hear in this trailer is its lame attempt at another Oscar nomination that's certain not to materialise - if you can sit through 60 seconds of Bono's background wailing without wanting to shred your ears through a cheese grater, you're a stronger person than I am.
