BOSTON ONLINE FILM CRITICS ASSOCIATION ARE SLAVES TO MCQUEEN

The Boston Online Film Critics Association hasn't been around for very long, and few people pay much attention to how they choose to distribute their end-of-year awards. This year, though, I imagine that more than just that few may take notice, as 12 Years a Slave asserts its dominance with critics by sweeping. It misses out on only three available awards, taking six others. It may be early in awards season, but I feel confident that we're about to see a whole lot more critic group results like this, not least for the fact that smaller groups like the BOFCA often make similar choices. The other, longer-established Boston-based critic group, the Boston Society of Film Critics, is due to make its picks tomorrow.

  1. Finally, 12 Years a Slave gets off the Best Picture mark. Lubezki is missing again in Cinematography. But Delbonell's work is worthy enough, right?
    So, tomorrow, LAFCA and BSFC.
LAFCA are notorious in distinguishing themselves. They get on with some very interesting picks. Hoping to see Blue is the Warmest Color get something big, may be. A runner-up would be enough too. Joaquin Pheonix for best actor, LAFCA? Would be great boast for Her..
Remember last year, brother, BSFC went nuts on Perks of Being a Wallflower in supporting category.. Watson for Oscar talk. Huh?

And Wolf of Wall Street is slowly building heat? What do you think?

    1. The Wolf of Wall Street hasn't been able to build up heat until now. But now that people are seeing it, it looks like a very strong contender. Such great reviews.

Fml The Perks of Being a Wallflower. Emma Watson wtf...
