Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones had a bit of a nightmare at the box office over the weekend. It could only muster up $18.3 million, finishing in second to Disney's Frozen, on its sixth weekend! Indeed, that sixth weekend was the third-highest in US box office history, behind only Avatar and Titanic. Since it expanded nationwide, it's spent two weekends on top now, and hasn't left the Top 3. Light drops all around in the Top 10 led to something of a reshuffle: The Wolf of Wall Street overtaking American Hustle to move into fourth place (despite a C CinemaScore from last weekend), and Grudge Match ascending into the Top 10. As is customary for the first frame of the year, new releases were few, and far from fantastic. James Franco and Travis Mathews' Interior. Leather Bar. and Giuseppe Tornatore's The Best Offer could neither make enough money, in one theatre each, to get into the Top 50.
