I'm very excited by the career of young Hungarian director Benedek Fliegauf, and last year he delivered his finest feature to date: Just the Wind. His tense, minimalist drama about a family of Romas in rural Hungary over the course of a day, in the midst of a series of local Roma murders is one of the strongest, most memorable films of 2013, and the sound design - by Fliegauf himself, alongside Adrian Baumeister, Tamas Beke and Lars Ginzel - is beautifully designed and impeccably executed. A close second was the sound design for Ridley Scott's The Counsellor, from arguably the international film industry's best sound design crew.
