Giorgos Lanthimos' Dogtooth was pushed through by a special committee into receiving an Oscar nomination a few years ago, and became just about the most unconventional Oscar nominee in history. His English-language debut will be made with The Lobster, a drama about a group of people threatened with being turned into animals should they not each find partners. Rachel Weisz, Colin Farrell and Ben Whishaw will join fellow European stars Olivia Colman, Lea Seydoux and Ariane Labed in the cast.
