David Michod's The Rover is being speculated to be one of the films showing in competition next month at Cannes, and it has a French release set for the 4th of June. His next project will be The Operators, based on Michael Hastings' novel about American military commanders, specifically the disgraced former commanding general of US and international forces stationed in Afghanistan, Stanley McChrystal. Like the recent Best Picture Oscar winner, Brad Pitt's production company Plan B is set to co-finance the film, and Pitt himself is set to star. Michod will both write and direct the film.
