CANNES: MUCH HOPE, A LITTLE GLORY FOR QUEEN AND COUNTRY

27 years after John Boorman's Hope and Glory earned five Oscar nominations (including three for Boorman), and in which time that film has become rather forgotten by many, Boorman returns with a sequel, Queen and Country, screening at Cannes in the Directors' Fortnight sidebar. Reviews are solid, but not spectacular, suggesting that this won't pick up nearly the same level of major awards traction as its 1987 predecessor. Reviews for supporting cast member Caleb Landry Jones suggest major Razzie traction, on the other hand (jk, the Razzies have never even heard of John Boorman). Reviews from Peter Bradshaw in The Guardian, Adam Woodward in Little White Lies, Leslie Felperin in The Hollywood Reporter, Scott Foundas in Variety and Tim Robey in The Telegraph.
