LIONSGATE WILL RELEASE DARK BLOOD IN THE U.S.

After beginning a lengthy festival run at the Netherlands Film Festival in September 2012, having already gone through an even lengthier wait to actually reach the big screen, George Sluizer's 1993 feature Dark Blood is finally set for release in the U.S. Known for being the film River Phoenix was shooting at the time of his death that year, a rights issue prevented the film from being seen until 19 years after it was made. It opened in its first international market, Japan (normally one of the final territories for American films), the alternative Western is scheduled to open in Brazil, South Korea and Turkey, and now the U.S.A. Lionsgate is planning a VOD release.
