The heavy hitters behind the camera won't pull any punters for Angelina Jolie's virtually star-free historical drama, so the trailer editors have dutifully presented her sophomore film as patriotic saccharine slush. The Christmas Day release (in the US) is clearly angling directly for Oscar, but the current strategy to sell Unbroken as the natural race leader could easily backfire over the coming eight months.
