The big buzz atm around Golden Globe rule changes is about the TV categories, but that's not my scene, so I'm focusing on a different one. In order to flesh out the animation category, foreign language animated films will no longer be eligible for the HFPA's Foreign Language Film award, and will instead be permitted inclusion in its Animated Film category. The HFPA doesn't allow films to be nominated for more than one award for the film itself, as some may remember from years ago when English-language foreign films (such as Gandhi) weren't included in the main Best Picture - Drama category.
