The reviews from Telluride are in (at last!) for Sophie Barthes' Madame Bovary, and they're not very good. An adaptation of the literary classic may seem, on paper, like a curious choice for Barthes to follow Cold Souls, and a few critics are no more convinced having seen the film than they were before. There's one good review, from Justin Chang at Variety, but the rest - from Gregory Ellwood at In Contention, Rodrigo Perez at The Playlist and Todd McCarthy at The Hollywood Reporter - are pretty bad.
