TORONTO REPORT: THE DEAD LANDS

One thing that all the critics are in agreement over with Toa Fraser's The Dead Lands at TIFF is that it's beautifully photographed. But the film has been fairly well-received overall, and ought to become a prominent Kiwi production, as one of the few films in the history of cinema to be entirely in Maori dialogue. Reviews come from Jason Gorber at TwitchFilm, Deborah Young at The Hollywood Reporter and Dennis Harvey at Variety.
