Richard LaGravenese adapted this stage musical for the screen and directed it himself, entering it into TIFF and the Hamptons, among other festivals. Unusually, the film is receiving a UK release this calendar year (12th of December) but a US release next year (13th of February), signalling that there are evidently no hopes for awards consideration for the musical. Here's a first look at the fairly well-received film.
