WAFCA AWARDS: SPOTLIGHT AND MAD MAX CONTINUE TO DOMINATE CRITICS PRIZES

It's a running theme... over the last 24 hours. But it can't be denied - Spotlight has made a major surge in the Best Picture race, winning a fourth in a row with victory at the Washington D.C. Area Film Critics Association. And, in keeping with the current trend, its director, Tom McCarthy, misses out on the Best Director prize, as Mad Max: Fury Road's George Miller takes that instead, and his film takes a number of technical awards.
