SPOTLIGHT AND THE REVENANT ARE BIG WINNERS WITH HOUSTON FILM CRITICS SOCIETY


Another critics group, another Best Picture win for Tom McCarthy's Boston Globe drama Spotlight. The Revenant wins three awards in other categories from the Houston Film Critics Society, including Best Director for Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, but the wins are generally very split - Leonardo DiCaprio actually loses Best Actor to Steve Jobs' Michael Fassbender, despite the obvious support for the former film, while there's a slightly surprising (but well deserved) victory in Supporting Actress for Carol's Rooney Mara!
