Come and collect your Oscar, Sarah Greenwood! Bill Condon's live action remake of Disney's 1991 animated adaptation of Beauty and the Beast opens in the US and UK on the 17th of March, and looks set to be one of 2017's most successful blockbusters. The film may fail to recapture the magic of that most exceptional of Disney animated classics, not least due to some questionable casting in the non-CGI roles. But its design elements appear reliably strong, with costume designer Jacqueline Durran, production designer Sarah Greenwood and returning composer Alan Menken - himself being essential to the success of this project - turning in promising work, if the above trailer is to be trusted.
