Always refreshing to see a certain festival mainstay move beyond their usual stomping ground. Aki Kaurismaki is set to premiere his new film, The Other Side of Hope, at the Berlin International Film Festival next month, rather than in his typical location of Cannes. It's always a pleasure to watch a Kaurismaki film, as much due to their soothing similarities as it is due to their pointed little differences, particularly when it's been so long since his last! The above trailer is our first look at the film, though its mix of languages makes it a tough one to follow fully, unless you're well acquainted with all three and/or the curiosities of YouTube's automatic subtitling programme.
