Now, here's the thing. How do you not vote for Katy Perry, looking at this list? Imagine Katy Perry performing at the Oscars. Imagine! Indeed, we could have Katy Perry, Adele and Florence Welch all on the bill. Ooh! I predict any of the songs from Casa de Mi Padre to win, or Ladies of Tampa from Magic Mike. No I don't.

Interestingly enough I did see the Paul Williams documentary at the Angelika in Manhattan (I live and teach English in a Jr. high school in my northern New Jersey hometown right across the Hudson River just minutes from NYC) and Williams was present. His song was appealing, and I hear it will get a nomination. But SKYFALL and LES' "Suddenly" seem like sure bets too. But God, yes, so many songs there!
