SEQUEL FOR THE ABCS OF DEATH

Both one of the best films and one of the worst films I've seen lately, horror anthology The ABCs of Death has attracted enough of a cult following among a notoriously loyal fanbase to warrant a sequel. And the slate of directors is just as promising, including names such as Alex de la Iglesia (The Last Circus), Marcus Dunstan (The Collection), Sono Sion (Suicide Club) and Vincenzo Natali (Splice). Unfortunately, also included are Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, watching whose film Inside was one of the most traumatic experiences of my life. As the condition of the film remains that each short is on the topic of death, producers are taking note from the variety of genres showcased in the first film to expand their choice of helmers beyond the horror scene - Room 237's Rodney Ascher will be included, alongside Oscar-nominated animator Bill Plympton. A competition will be held over the Summer to find a 26th director from a selection of fan-submitted entries, as was the case in the first installment.
