HANY ABU-ASSAD TO REMAKE SYMPATHY FOR MR. VENGEANCE

Hany Abu-Assad is best known as the director of the Oscar-nominated Palestinian film Paradise Now. At Cannes, and other festivals, this year, his new feature Omar has attracted more good reviews for Abu-Assad. He is now attached to direct an English-language remake of Park Chan Wook's Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance, following on the heels of Spike Lee's Park adaptation Oldboy and the planned William Monahan adaptation of Lady Vengeance.
