THE GOLDEN LION GOES TO SACRO GRA

The above image is a link to the trailer for Sacro GRA, which has won the Golden Lion at the 2013 Venice Film Festival. It's an Italian film about an Italian highway from an Italian director at an Italian film festival with an italian jury president (Bernardo Bertolucci). Who would have thought a documentary about a road could win one of cinema's highest honours? This is the first year in which documentaries have been allowed into the official selection at Venice, and Bertolucci joked that some jury members considered giving the Best Actor prize to the other competition doc's subject, Donald Rumsfeld for Errol Morris' The Unknown Known!
