One of the most anticipated films at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, at least among select audiences, is Ned Benson's debut project The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby. The film is told in two parts, Him and Her, which will be released as separate installments, telling the story of a relationship from the perspective of both him (James McAvoy) and her (Jessica Chastain). While Deborah Young has a few reservations about the film in The Hollywood Reporter, Nikola Grozdanovic's The Playlist A- rave proclaims Benson's film 'one of the year's greatest relationship films'. The film has yet to acquire distribution.
Also screening at TIFF was Hitoshi Matsumoto's R100, which has received positive reviews from both TwitchFilm's Todd Brown and The Huffington Post's Stuart Henderson. And three out of five stars from Tim Robey in The Telegraph for Dexter Fletcher's Sunshine on Leith, which stars Peter Mullan, Jason Flemyng and Jane Horrocks.
