2013: BEST 3D - GRAVITY

Congrats to the stereo team on Alfonso Cuaron's Gravity. The film that was supposed to renew audiences' faith in the format (though didn't, despite extraordinarily high 3D shares in box office grosses) might at least be the film to reinvigorate attitudes toward employing 3D technology more wisely in the future. If not the most artistically innovative, it's undoubtedly beautiful and immersive, and also thrilling. I'm a sucker for the old trope of chucking stuff out of the screen at the audience, and that was used to terrific effect in Gravity. Definitely the best 3D I saw in 2013.
