Difficult to gauge any kind of clear impression on David Michod's The Rover from Cannes, though perhaps indications as to why it was chosen to screen there in the first place, but not in competition. Certain voices praise Michod's vision, while others lambast the film - specifically, many of the most prominent figures in the critical community in attendance at the fest.
