Warner Bros. will always have Clint Eastwood's back, and, after the predicted flop that was this summer's Jersey Boys, they're pushing his next film, American Sniper, ahead to this year's awards race. Not exactly a surprising development when one thinks about it: Eastwood is known for his quick turnarounds on movies, which has resulted in quite a few misses to go with his hits, and a release date outside of awards season would have seemed strange for a potential contender like this one. A limited Christmas Day release is now scheduled for the film Stateside, with a planned expansion on the 16th of January.
