VENICE REPORT: OLIVE KITTERIDGE

Not technically a film, but it's being screened in two parts, kinda like a film, at the very film-centric Venice Film Festival: Lisa Cholodenko's new HBO miniseries, Oliver Kitteridge has been met with excellent responses on the Lido. Critics have little but praise for the four-part series, starring Frances McDormand (the recipient of an honorary award at the fest) and Richard Jenkins. You can read their reviews here: David Rooney at The Hollywood Reporter, Catherine Bray at In Contention, Peter Debruge at Variety and Robbie Collin at The Telegraph.
