2015 BAFTA RISING STAR NOMINEES

Ahead of Friday's BAFTA nominations, those in line for this year's Rising Star award have been announced. Five up-and-coming actors have been selected for the special BAFTA category, which is voted upon by the British public. It's a neat move by the British Academy, inviting public sentiment to play a part in their annual choice of award winners, though some questionable local picks in the past have inspired a more recent shift toward international stars, as BAFTA tries to maintain its relevance on a global scale. Last year's winner was Jack O'Connell. Check out the five nominees for this year below; one will win a BAFTA on the 14th of February.

LUCA GUADAGNINO'S A BIGGER SPLASH - TEASER TRAILER

I Am Love director Luca Guadagnino's first narrative film since that international breakthrough in 2009, A Bigger Splash stars Tilda Swinton, Ralph Fiennes, Matthias Schoenaerts and Dakota Johnson. It received boos at the Venice Film Festival where it premiered last month, but it also received cheers, and that's the kind of divisive reaction I rather want it to have. Out on the 12th of February in the UK and on the 13th of May in the US. Also screening at the London Film Festival later this month.
