NEW OFFICIAL TRAILER FOR I AM NOT YOUR NEGRO

Of all the documentaries from 2016, between those I have already seen and those I have not, Raoul Peck's I Am Not Your Negro ranks very highly on my most-anticipated list, both past and present. Inspired by the great activist James Baldwin's unfinished memoir Remember This House, the film is told through his words, but Samuel L. Jackson's voice, and has won rave reviews from critics across the board. Released theatrically in the US on the 3rd of February.

I AM NOT YOUR NEGRO: TEASER TRAILER

Here's hoping I Am Not Your Negro makes a surprise appearance online before the 3rd of February. Alas, until then, us not-so-fancy American journalists will have to hold off on seeing what promises to be among the very best films of 2016. Haitian filmmaker Raoul Peck's documentary, featuring archive footage of the great James Baldwin, might just be the biggest breakthrough of his career to date. After screening at several festivals through the latter half of this year, including its premiere at Toronto in September, it has gone on to win and be nominated for awards such as the Gothams, the International Documentary Awards, and the Grolsch People's Choice Award at TIFF.
