It disappoints me to feel this way, but cor this looks shit. Its only announced upcoming release is on the 4th of May in the US; I expect it'll receive a fair bit more fanfare for its native British release. Director Amma Asante turned a lot of heads with her 2004 debut A Way of Life - one must wonder why it has taken so long for her to make a second film, and why it looks as bland as this does. A female director, an undeniably terrific true story worthy of being told, and this is all that they could muster up? Let's hope the film trumps the trailer and poster in terms of quality.
