A late addition to the Cannes competition slate, Guillaume Nicloux's Valley of Love debuts its trailer mere days ahead of its official festival premiere. The latest from the director of last year's The Kidnapping of Michel Houellebecq stars Isabelle Huppert and Gerard Depardieu as estranged partners who receive a letter from their son in which he declares himself to have committed suicide and to be returning to life, an event which he invites them to witness. An interesting premise, and certainly a promising prospect for these two most talented of actors. Only a French theatrical release, next month, has been confirmed at present.
