Yet more awards for Argo, as the slapdash backlash to Zero Dark Thirty's early dominance continues. But 0D30 hasn't been left out, winning Best Actress for Jessica Chastain, and, largely speaking, it looks like the FFCC has decided to spread the wealth, which I can't complain about. Poor Quvenzhane Wallis is already breaking out, and she's only 7 years old or something, and The Intouchables wins yet another Foreign Language Film award, much to the dismay of humanity.

  1. ARGO gets one here and there.

    Day-Lewis is unstoppable.

    1. It's a perfectly well-made trifle. I don't think it has quite the weight required to merit being lauded as 'The Best Film of 2012', although that didn't stop The Artist. It had the whole silent film thing, though. And these small critics groups can get away with picking something like Argo over Lincoln and Zero Dark Thirty - more 'important' films. They can claim that this is just their opinion, which the Academy finds it harder to do, being publicly considered a barometer of taste and quality in the industry.
