Only two categories in which the eventual winner has varied from the apparent winner based on the nominations, with Original Screenplay and Documentary being the only categories in which this has happened, which convinces me (for the second year running) that their nominations are unwittingly announced in order of placement. Another smaller critics group chooses Argo, and winners are pretty conventional all over.
BAFTA noms announced.
ReplyDeleteINTERSTING surprises.
NO SPEILBERG.
HOOPER OUT, TARANTINO IN.
AFFLECK and HANEKE scores 3 noms each.
Best Diector FRONTRUNNERS-
1. AFFLECK

3. LEE
4. SPEILBERG
5. TARANTINO/HOOPER.
POTENTIAL SPOILERS- RUSSELL/HANEKE/PAUL THOMAS ANDERSON.
With BAFTA snubbing SPEILBERG, he may ve lost the frountrunner status but still the favourite 2 take oscar home.
