Only Lincoln's second Best Picture win of the entire season, and only Steven Spielberg's first! The NTFCA gave Best Picture to War Horse last year, though, so we clearly have some Spielberg fans here. Not that this changes things - who's listening to the NTFCA anyway? Lincoln's frontrunner position becomes neither stronger nor weaker. Jennifer Lawrence has advanced that bit further ahead of Jessica Chastain as far as critics' groups go (we'll see what the Critics' Choice makes of that on Thursday), and perhaps a little surprising that Sally Field doesn't win Best Supporting Actress, considering the love for Lincoln. I guess Anne Hathaway's just that bit too formidable.

  1. FINALLY SPEILBERG wins fr director.
Now Lawrence has 12 wins over 10 of Chastain.
    Strange critics.
Awarding cinematography without mentioning screenplay .

    1. At least now Lincoln has a better record with the critics groups than The King's Speech, which won only one. Tom Hooper won none.
