Here's the thing. Iron Man 3 is #slaying at the international box office. In a mere nine days, it has grossed over $307.7 million, which is far and away the highest gross ever yet for a film which has yet to open in the US, where it opens tomorrow. Not only has it now passed all prior solo Avengers films' cumulative non-American totals bar Iron Man 2, it's only a day away from passing Iron Man 2, and its international opening weekend even topped The Avengers' from last summer. Indeed, it ranks ninth among all-time international opening weekends, and second among Marvel movies (behind Spider-Man 3), and that's without China's assistance. Speaking of China, Iron Man 3's opening day haul of $21.5 million there yesterday (Wednesday) is a new all-time record, passing The Avengers by over $3 million. And there you go.
