Not content with doing apparently little justice to William Faulkner's As I Lay Dying, James Franco is now set to direct another Faulkner adaptation: The Sound and the Fury. He co-wrote the screenplay with Matt Rager, and hopes to cast his younger brother Dave, Jon Hamm and Danny McBride. A Martin Ritt version starring Yul Brynner and Joanne Woodward from 1959 already exists, but who'd dare suggest that Martin Ritt + Yul Brynner + Joanne Woodward > James Franco + Dave Franco + Jon Hamm? Certainly not James!
