IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE SEQUEL! OR NOT...

You may have heard the news, a few days back, that a sequel to Frank Capra's festive classic It's a Wonderful Life was being proposed by Star Partners and Hummingbird Productions... yeh, me neither. It was gonna be called 'It's a Wonderful Life: The Rest of the Story'... yeh, I know. A screenplay has been written, but evidently without considering that Paramount has held the rights to the film since 1999. Writer and (supposed) producer Bob Farnsworth had informed The Hollywood Reporter that the rights were in the public domain. Even if they were, there'd be a reason nobody had bothered to mount a sequel since the film's release in 1946, and that's because it's a rly fucking shite idea. Paramount will fight the production. So too will the rest of the world, no doubt.
