12 Years a Slave leads the field in the first of my Oscar nominations for the 2013-14 season with 12 mentions. It's the only one to hit Director, Screenplay and Editing too, never mind Acting categories, which is not a likely scenario. Gravity and Lee Daniels' The Butler follow with nine apiece. Saving Mr. Banks makes a middling show, but American Hustle is almost completely absent. I'm surely way off, but then so are the nominations! 10 weeks and counting...

Finally, SOS has its 1st round of predictions. Cheers. Am not gonna argue with anything for now. But people calling on 'locks' on everything is just over the thing. Its like the race is already over while it still hasn't even begun. 12 Years a Slave and Gravity enter the season with great word of mouth, that's it. Still expecting to see a fair share of wealth, cometh the critics' awards. Counting on some late Oscar pushes to change the coarse of the race. And more importantly, hoping for more good movies to come along.
ReplyDeleteWould be delighted if Man of Steel gets a VFX nod, btw.
It's surely got to. I can't see it missing a nomination there.
DeleteI've already changed my mind on several of my predictions lol!
Ew locks. There's no such thing. Not now, not ever. Not even Cate.
