Sony Pictures Classics is going to push hard for Asghar Farhadi's The Past with awards groups, it seems. What with their success with Farhadi's last film, A Separation, and their prominence in the Foreign Language Film Oscar category for years now, and the Cannes win for its Oscar-nominated lead Berenice Bejo, I'd say they stand a pretty strong chance in getting the film some notice. Out in the US on the 20th of December - yup, a prime awards consideration release date! Here's the US trailer.
