WEINSTEINS WIN OVER MPAA - PHILOMENA DOWN TO PG-13

TWC couldn't get past the MPAA on their title battle over Lee Daniels' The Butler, but they've been successful with their rating battle over Philomena. The film, which has been tipped by many to yield Judi Dench her seventh Oscar nomination, was initially given an R rating by the MPAA as it contained two uses of 'fuck'. Two. In a comedy-drama about a little old Irish lady. Far more profanity has resulted in lower ratings in the past, and with the help of a personal appeal from Steve Coogan, and a brilliant Funny or Die video, the Weinsteins have won their case in lowering Philomena's rating to a PG-13, making the film accessible to all Americans.
