12 YEARS AND THE BUTLER WIN AT AFRICAN-AMERICAN FILM CRITICS ASSOCIATION


The African-American Film Critics Association has given its seal of approval to Lee Daniels' The Butler, even as other critic groups (and the HFPA) have largely ignored it. But it has been pipped to the post of the top award, which goes to 12 Years a Slave - one of four awards given to Steve McQueen's film.
