CHICAGO FILM CRITICS ASSOCIATION NOMINATIONS DOMINATED BY 12 YEARS A SLAVE

Picking up a nomination in every available category, it's safe to say that 12 Years a Slave is the runaway frontrunner for success with the Chicago Film Critics Association, when they announce their awards on Monday. But look out for Gravity and Her, both of which pick up seven nods, and which have proven quick to upset 12 Years' chances among other critic groups so far this season. As is often the case, I'm very pleased with the CFCA's choices, which include three nominations for The Act of Killing, four for Blue Is the Warmest Colour and one for Alfonso de Vilallongo's score for Blancanieves.
