INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS TAKES TOP PRIZE AT TORONTO FILM CRITICS ASSOCIATION

It's been a long time coming, but the Coen brothers' Inside Llewyn Davis has finally won a Best Film accolade this awards season. You can count on the Toronto Film Critics Association to make some left-field choices, and theirs for 2013 are characteristically different from the norm. I'm particularly pleased to note the well-deserved win in the Best First Feature category for Kleber Mendonca Filho's Neighbouring Sounds, which will surely go down as one of my favourite films of 2013. Many of the TFCA's awards carry with them a cash prize, including the Rogers Best Canadian Film Award, which will be announced at the gala on the 7th of January.
