PHOENIX FILM CRITICS SOCIETY NOMINATIONS TOW THE LINE

I wasn't terribly impressed by the Phoenix Film Critics Society's nominations, and I'm not terribly impressed by their awards either. Oh, that's rude. Cos they're not that bad. Just not that imaginative either. Then again, coming off the London Critics' Circle nominations, it was kind of inevitable that I'd be disappointed by whatever came next. Big on Gravity, this lot, though it doesn't win Best Picture; once again, that award goes to 12 Years a Slave, whereas Alfonso Cuaron wins Best Director.
